Located on top of
Wisp Mountain adjacent the ski resort, Old
Camp Lodge is basically ski-in/ski-out with
access to Lift 7.
The almost brand
new log home was completed in August of 2014.
There are three floors, five bedrooms and a
loft with daybed, easily accommodating twelve
people. Choose from 3 stone fireplaces,
propane or wood burning. Flat screen
televisions are located in the living room,
family room and four of the bedrooms. The
kitchen has stainless appliances, granite
countertops, and even a wine refrigerator. The
lower floor has includes the family room with
a wet bar, a refrigerator, a pool table, and
the washer and dryer. The back deck faces the
woods with no homes in sight, or ever to be
built in this dedicated woodland. Pour a few
glasses of wine and enjoy the sunsets from the
side deck and then soak up the stars from the
private hot tub also located on the deck.
Wisp Mountain
offers year-round activities for all seasons.
Enjoy snow skiing, snow tubing, ice skating
and cross country skiing in the winter. Then
as summer arrives the activities change to
include mountain biking, a “zip line” and a
“roller coaster” down the mountain.
At the bottom of
the mountain is Deep Creek Lake, a manmade
lake with boating, waterskiing, fishing, and
swimming. There are two public golf courses on
the mountain. World class trout streams are
within twenty minutes of the lodge.
Within walking
distance of the lodge is Adventure Sports
Center International featuring a manmade white
water rafting facility, with a water course
that artificially creates Class I thru Class V
rapids. Even the US Olympic canoeists and
kayakers use this facility for training, but
on weekends it is open to the public. Just ten
minutes away is Oakland, MD chosen by national
magazines as the best area in the US for fall
foliage.
